How robotic gamification helped my elementary students love STEM
Coding is a necessary skill in today’s world, but it is relatively challenging to master, especially for kids. Its complexity is not necessarily because it is incomprehensible, but because it is a new concept for most students. This is especially the case for students in inner-city schools where technology is inevitably scarce due to systemic factors beyond the students’ control.Get more news about Coding Robot Agency, you can vist our website!
With numerous programming languages available, it can take time to pick a starting point. Educators have found a solution to this problem: gamification. Platforms like CoderZ offer virtual programming services where children can learn code through games. These games make learning code both fun and engaging for kids.
Through the CoderZ Robotics curriculum, kids learn to create, manage, and communicate with cyber robots in a virtual setting by inputting code. Block code is used because it is easier for children to understand and execute instead of complex text-based code. Learning is more accessible because virtual robots do not require hardware, space, or other associated costs.
I used the CoderZ League platform to help my students develop basic coding skills as they played their way through entertaining bite-sized missions. Once I saw how they possessed both drive and tenacity, they participated in a virtual robotics competition–the Fall 2022 CoderZ League Robotics Competition. The competition involved simple and complex tasks completed by the robot that the students programmed, such as direction of movement and angles of rotation to instruct the robot on how it should move to complete its mission.
CoderZ League Robotics is founded on using block-based code and game-missions to engage and teach children about programming. Grounded in STEM, these exercises help kids develop computational thinking and technical ability, which improves their real-world problem-solving skills. Students must adapt to complete further missions and challenges, thereby strengthening their resolve and developing skills they can use beyond the classroom setting.
In particular, the CoderZ platform offers a complete curriculum for programming cyber robots. Educators who wish to teach coding can do so even if they are not skilled in programming or robotics. All they have to do is follow the curriculum and learn with their students. However, this is also limiting because educators cannot create new challenges for students to complete. They must stick to what is provided on the platform. Nevertheless, it is an engaging experience that helps introduce children to complex concepts in a fun way.
Five Electronics Component Trends To Watch
Rapid advances in the internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), wireless technologies, and wireless charging are some of the biggest drivers behind the development of new electronic components in 2022. Coupled with digitalization across most manufacturing sectors with big trends like Industry 4.0, smart cities and health care, green engineering, 5G networks, and autonomous mobility, you have complex challenges around size, power consumption, connectivity, sensor processing, and even ease of implementation. Together, these are driving some of the biggest component trends in the industry.Get more news about Brand New Electronic Component, you can vist our website!
However, over the next several years, one of the biggest issues that the industry and the world faces is energy consumption, particularly with a growing portfolio of IoT devices. There is also a greater concern for the environment and the need to reduce greenhouse gases, which has put more pressure on the industry to develop new components that address these concerns.
Designers face two big challenges in 2022: reducing power consumption and improving efficiency. Here is where you will see three key component trends advancing over the next few years — gallium nitride (GaN) power devices, battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles (EVs), and energy harvesting.
Other technologies making significant advances are light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors for improved safety in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles (AVs) and gas sensors to improve the health and safety of humans.
What Is Rapid Prototyping?
Without rapid prototyping, which allows CNC machinists and engineers to transform a scale model into physical, tangible product, Microsoft might not be so excited—or quick—to show off its latest gaming console. “Billed as the most powerful games console ever, it’s set to offer native 4K gaming in the living room,” according to All3DP.Get more news about Cnc Rapid Prototyping, you can vist our website!
Arguably, the road to success might have been longer without the amazing innovation of rapid prototyping.
Why is rapid prototyping so critical to brands like Microsoft—and countless other, smaller manufacturers? What does rapid prototyping mean for machinists and engineers?
If you ask Tom Chi, the sky is really the limit as rapid prototyping offers fast solutions for a brighter future. The implications for rapid prototyping are potentially just as game-changing (get it?) for entrepreneurs as they are for major corporations like Microsoft, with respect to seriously saving both time and money.
So, what is rapid prototyping? Why is there such a push to increasingly integrate it into machining and engineering?
Understanding this process is critical to expanding the possibilities of turning our designs into products faster than ever before. Check out the following and envision how rapid prototyping could help transform your business and possibly boost your bottom line.
What is Rapid Prototyping?
At the risk of oversimplifying a complex process, rapid prototyping is defined as “the speedy creation of a full-scale model. The word prototype comes from the Latin words proto (original) and typus (model).”
By creation, we don’t mean the creation in the abstract. Rather, a rapid prototype represents a tangible, hold-in-your-hands, physical creation.
There are different types of rapid prototyping, with the current trends following additive manufacturing and 3D printing. However, subtractive rapid prototyping still continues to be a major driver and is often better suited for certain types of projects and product designs.
No matter whether you’re doing additive, subtractive or some combination of both, the fact is rapid prototyping allows designers to bring their models to life. “This is often done using sophisticated computer-aided design or other assembly software, and physically implemented using 3-D printers,” as defined by Techopedia.
The team at UK-based 3D Creation Lab explains, “3D Rapid prototyping advancements allow for faster and lower cost prototypes and model fabrication by eliminating manpower and expensive tooling which allow companies and inventors to bring their products and designs to market faster than the competition.”
Given all the product possibility that rapid prototyping has to offer, one has to assume there is a drawback somewhere.
For all the pros, rapid prototyping does present a few cons, not the least of which is the potential to eliminate manpower, thereby reducing the number of jobs available for CNC machinists.
Ford patents magnetic charging connector: MagSafe for EVs?
Ford has filed a patent application for a new type of EV charging connector based on a magnetic coupling.Get more news about led magnetic connector supplier, you can vist our website!
In the application, which was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) November 1, 2022, Ford describes using magnetic attraction to secure a charging connector with a charge port embedded in a vehicle’s bumper.
It sounds somewhat like the MagSafe connector you might use to charge your Apple product, but a whole lot bigger.
Ford envisions this magnetic charging connector being used with both EVs and plug-in hybrids, and with AC and DC charging stations. It also indicated that the magnetic connector could be installed on vehicles along with conventional charge ports.Lacking a cable, this setup does require maneuvering a vehicle to align with the charging station. To make this less challenging, Ford said in the application that it would design in some degree of articulation to allow a hookup as long as the driver is relatively close to the target.
Ford does consider this to be a form of conductive charging, with a physical connection to transmit electricity, as opposed to the inductive charging exemplified by wireless charging systems. As with MagSafe, the magnetic system will help align connectors.
Getting rid of the physical connection is attractive, too. The recent Ram Charger inductive charging robot does without it, pressing up against a charging pad once aligned below the vehicle but relying on a magnetic field in between. The General Motors EV1 also used a unique Magne-Charge induction charging paddle.
Ford hasn’t confirmed plans to use this novel charging connector in future production vehicles. Among the potential problems are the cosmetic (and parking vulnerability) challenge of integrating the charge port with a vehicle’s bumper.
The desire to eliminate the fuss of handling charging cables has led to some interesting ideas, such as the snake-like robotic charger Tesla showed in 2015 and quietly shelved. The automaker now appears more focused on rallying other automakers to use its NACS connector, perhaps as part of a push to win federal money reserved for a national charging network. Aptera has confirmed plans to use the Tesla connector, but the automaker’s pitch doesn’t seem to have generated much interest from other firms.

Electric Vehicle Battery Makers Test a Future Without Lithium
A year and a half ago, China’s CATL put on a flashy event to make an announcement significant enough that Zeng Yuqun, the founder and chairman of the world’s biggest battery maker, served as emcee.Get more news about Lithium Battery Pack, you can vist our website!
Zeng, who had just passed up Alibaba’s Jack Ma in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, revealed that CATL was working on battery packs that would use lithium-ion and sodium-ion cells. While sodium is more abundant and offers potential safety benefits over lithium, the latter is dominant in EV batteries. Lithium-ion chemistries offer superior energy density, enabling drivers to travel further between charges.
Every year the world runs more and more on batteries. Electric vehicles passed 10% of global vehicle sales in 2022, and they’re on track to reach 30% by the end of this decade.
Policies around the world are only going to accelerate this growth: recent climate legislation in the US is pumping billions into battery manufacturing and incentives for EV purchases. The European Union, and several states in the US, passed bans on gas-powered vehicles starting in 2035.
The transition will require lots of batteries—and better and cheaper ones.
Most EVs today are powered by lithium-ion batteries, a decades-old technology that’s also used in laptops and cell phones. All those years of development have helped push prices down and improve performance, so today’s EVs are approaching the price of gas-powered cars and can go for hundreds of miles between charges. Lithium-ion batteries are also finding new applications, including electricity storage on the grid that can help balance out intermittent renewable power sources like wind and solar.
But there is still lots of room for improvement. Academic labs and companies alike are hunting for ways to improve the technology—boosting capacity, speeding charging time, and cutting costs. The goal is even cheaper batteries that will provide cheap storage for the grid and allow EVs to travel far greater distances on a charge.
At the same time, concerns about supplies of key battery materials like cobalt and lithium are pushing a search for alternatives to the standard lithium-ion chemistry.
In the midst of the soaring demand for EVs and renewable power and an explosion in battery development, one thing is certain: batteries will play a key role in the transition to renewable energy. Here’s what to expect in 2023.

Minnesota Appeals Court Deals Blow to Electronic Pull Tab Industry
A Minnesota appeals court has ruled that the state gambling control board erred when it permitted “open-all” electronic pull-tabs (EPTs) at bars, restaurants, and other venues.Get more news about china pull tab tickets, you can vist our website!
Like traditional printed pull-tabs, EPTs reveal a set of symbols or numbers with each play. But they transplant the action into a gaming cabinet, along with a digital visual presentation that apes slot machines.
Unlike slots, they don’t use a random number generator to produce results. Each result is predetermined, as it would be if you were buying printed tickets, one by one, from a stack in a store.
But they’re still way too much like slots, according to local tribal gaming operators, who have a monopoly on that vertical.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) sued the Minnesota Gambling Control Board in 2019. The tribe argued that the “open all” variety of EPTs, which reveal all symbols with one the touch of a button, conflicted with how the state defined the machines when they legalized them in 2012.Caught in Two Minds
The statute required that players “must activate or open each electronic pull-tab ticket and each individual line, row, or column of each electronic pull-tab ticket.”
Minnesota legalized EPTs as part of an initiative to raise money for the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The machines continue to raise a lot of cash for charitable causes in the state.
In 2020, an administrative law judge ruled that “open-all” EPTs were legal. That decision was not completely reversed Monday. But the appellate court determined that the control board’s 2019 emails to vendors essentially created an “unpromulgated rule” that the games were not allowed.
The appellate panel determined that the 2012 statute itself was ambiguous, which could lay the ground for the legislature to revisit it.
The Minnesota Gambling Control Board has ignored the plain meaning and legislative intent of the law authorizing electronic pull-tabs in its approval of games which mimic slot machines,” read the statement. “We hope the Legislature will pass needed clarifications to ensure that electronic pull-tabs help charities raise money for worthy community causes while not undermining tribal gaming.”
EPT’s generated $1.9 billion in 2022, according to the gaming control board’s most recent report, although that’s slightly shy of the $2.1 billion the printed version pulled in. All profits go to nonprofits and charities.
Sam Krueger, executive director of the Electronic Gaming Group, told 5 Eyewitness New Mondays that EPTs were hugely popular, despite “relentless efforts of the tribal casinos to destroy electronic charitable gaming in Minnesota.”
FDA calls for removal of Puff Bars, a type of fruity, disposable vape
U.S. health officials are cracking down on a brand of fruity disposable e-cigarettes that is popular with teenagers, saying the company never received permission to sell them in the U.S.Get more news about berry lemonade disposable vape, you can vist our website!
The Food and Drug Administration sent a letter Monday telling the company to remove Puff Bar e-cigarettes from the market within 15 business days, including flavors like mango, pink lemonade and strawberry. The agency sent warning letters to nine other companies either selling similarly unauthorized e-cigarettes or nicotine solutions that illegally appeal to children. Some of those mimic packaging of sweets and cereals like Twinkies and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The regulatory action comes months after anti-vaping advocates warned that disposable vapes like Puff Bar were a glaring loophole in the FDA’s ban on flavored e-cigarettes. That policy, which took effect in February, narrowly targeted reusable vaping devices like Juul, the blockbuster brand that helped trigger the teen vaping craze in the U.S. Under the policy, only menthol and tobacco flavors were allowed for those devices. But the flavor restrictions did not apply to disposable vaping products like Puff Bar.
The seller of Puff Bar, Cool Clouds Distribution of Glendale, California, did not immediately respond to emailed messages seeking comment Monday afternoon.
Anti-vaping groups had petitioned the company to remove all disposable vaping products from market, warning they have caught on with teenagers who previously used discontinued Juul flavors like mint and mango. For months, the FDA has been consumed with the coronavirus outbreak, reviewing new tests and treatments. Earlier this year, the agency suspended in-person inspections at vape shops and convenience stores aimed at enforcing sales restrictions. Late last year, the U.S. raised the legal age to purchase e-cigarettes and all other tobacco and vaping products from 18 to 21.
