Melvor Idle strips away the 3D graphics and environments of RuneScape and other similar MMOs and distills it down to a simple idle game RS Gold based on menus in which players can manage their skills, inventory and quests. Combat encounters are fought and winning earns XP and loot that can later be invested into whichever level of skill tree or upgrade players prefer, and repeating activities such as crafting or cutting wood can yield benefits of their own.

Malcolm has been playing RuneScape since childhood, and has also dabbled in many of the leading idle games like Clicker Heroes, Cookie Clicker and NGU Idle. While he enjoyed them however, he thought the genre could have more to make it satisfying in a similar way to Jagex's top RPG.

"So I decided to make my own, but never thinking that it would actually be released, much less become the kind of game that is so popular," he tells GamesIndustry.biz. "I wanted to create something completely different from the existing idle game mould one that was feature-rich and allowed players to have a option in the way they wanted to move forward instead of just increasing the number of players on a daily basis.

After tinkering with it for while in a closed room I began to combine concepts and mechanics of classic MMOs with the popular idle game concept, creating something that could be enjoyed in a casual way, while on the move, and fit it into the busy life of a player."

He continues: "While the numbers and stats isn't something that all players love about MMOs It is the one that the majority of fans tend to gravitate towards after the exploration is over. Since it's usually central to what long-term players' attention is it was logical to RuneScape Gold For Sale incorporate this into one of the main elements of Melvor's game's concept. Additionally, it is compatible with design elements common in most idle games."
