The event was originally scheduled to begin later, however Blizzard delayed it due to the date altered for the Shadowlands expansion. Now through November 22 The anniversary event comes with additional rewards, including an Anniversary Gift Pack that includes items that boost reputation and experience gain by 16%, to commemorate that the event is celebrating its 16th anniversary. The bundle also comes with a unique invitation to embark on a journey to either Orgrimmar or Stormwind according to the faction you're with.

Also, there's a new vendor from the world that sells items from previous anniversary events as well as a new Crafted Clock of War you could purchase to enable transmogrification. Also, the Korrak's Revenge PvP event also arrives in WoW in conjunction with the anniversary celebration that allows players to gain new mounts.
