five nights at freddy's is the first installment in Scott Cawthon's independent point-and-click survival horror video game franchise. It was first released on Desura on August 8, 2014 (though it was later withdrawn at an unknown date), and then on Steam on August 18, 2014. The player's goal is to survive five nights at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza without being captured, stuffed into a mascot costume, and so killed by the animatronic characters; this is performed by watching their movements using the restaurant's surveillance cameras. The game is set in the same timeframe as Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and serves as a precursor to Five Nights at Freddy's 3, making it the fourth game in the series.
